Does diameter tolerance matter? Yes. Plus or minus 0.02 mm prints cleanly; wider tolerance causes jams and blobs.
How do I store filament? Sealed with desiccant. PLA absorbs moisture and prints bubbly; PETG and nylon are worse.
Why does my print string? Wet filament or too high a nozzle temperature. Dry it first, then lower the temperature by 5-10C.
How much does a spool print? A 1 kg spool is roughly 330 m of 1.75 mm filament, enough for many small parts or one large one.
Do I need a hardened nozzle? Only for abrasive filaments like carbon fibre or glow-in-the-dark. Brass wears out fast with those.
